My early auction ads looked awful and consequently my items got low bids and my sales were poor. I was impressed with the Power Seller status that other eBayers had - their feedback scores in the thousands .

I wanted a piece of the action and started researching other sellers' methods, sales pages, items they were selling etc. One day I noticed a product that was selling well on eBay and getting great feedback. I bought some samples from the seller and gave them to friends to try. After some great reports I bought 100 more and started selling them myself. Initially sales were slow so I did some more research and decided that my sales page was still poor. The text was all in one paragraph and there were no pictures other than the standard eBay picture. I didn't want to pay eBay for more pictures so got some web hosting to put my own pictures for free on the ad. I also taught myself the basics of the HTML language so that I could make my sales ads really stand out.

The product was Nubbin Oil and, together with two business partners, we set up a Ltd company and on eBay went from a feedback of a couple of hundred to 5000 in six months! Our eBay name is online-associates - check it for yourself.
